One Week In

|
We have completed our first week! Time for a map and recap. One train, one car: 1,360 km. Tonight we are heading to the train station for a 55 hour 2,996 km train journey to Beijing. We will continue to blog as often as we can, but don’t expect us to be able to upload every day!

Here is what we think so far:

Marcelle
Best: The unexpectedly breathtaking views of Laos countryside
Worst: The perpetual search for western food for my fussy children
Looking forwards to: The Great Wall of China

Maisie
Best: Visiting the Plain of Jars and the views of Laos
Worst: The food in Laos and Hanoi. The meal with the bowl of chicken legs after the border looked disgusting
Looking forwards to: Chinese noodles and the Great Wall of China

Harry
Best: Watching cartoon network in the mornings and the cyclo ride
Worst: People doing stuff to me like pinching my cheeks and saying ‘come here!’
Looking forwards to: Seeing snow at England and not having a shower on the train! And Chinese noodles!

Matt
Best: That the trip actually works! I was most worried about the logistics of getting from Vientiane to Hanoi. It was easy!
Worst: Dealing with a small red headed male individual
Looking forwards to: The old Hutongs of Beijing
